St Mary's Church

St Mary's Church

The Church is haunted by the apparition of Alexander Pope (21 May 1688 – 30 May 1744) - an 18th century English poet, best known for his satirical verse and for his translation of Homer. The phenomena allegedly started when his grave was disturbed and his skull purchased by a phrenologist. Coxe does not state what phenomena were reported.
